【Large Folding Fan / Decorative Fan】Purchased in '93 at a pawn shop in Salt Lake City. Made in Japan? Made in China?

1. In 1993, I visited the home of Rocky Aoki, the founder of the steakhouse chain Benihana, in Pennsylvania. He was truly a legendary figure, and his mansion was magnificent. I also remember visiting a bank vault in New York City where I saw, touched, and held many large gold bars. They were incredibly heavy, giving me a real sense of their weight.

2. After dining at Benihana, I went to Salt Lake City, which led to this current situation. I purchased this large folding fan and coins at a pawnshop. It was completely different from Japanese pawnshops.

3. I suspect that American soldiers may have looted many artworks from all over Japan at the end of the war and brought them back to the United States, where they were kept or sold.
However, upon closer inspection, it might be Chinese-made. The two wire attachments on the back of the fan were identical.

4. Dimensions: Height 50.5 cm, Width 88.5 cm.
It has 23 ribs and weighs 207g.
There are some stains in places. The outer fabric feels like a stiff cloth, and the inner lining is plain white paper.
There are three lines of kanji characters, but I cannot read them. I don't believe there are any hiragana characters.

5. On the way back from this trip, I went to the 1993 SEMA show in Las Vegas. I went alone to negotiate the purchase of a one-off custom Astro show car in December.
