This is a fabric art piece created by adhering fabric to shikishi (a type of stiff paper).
The blue fabric features a child in traditional Japanese clothing, and cherry blossom petals are carefully layered one by one, creating a three-dimensional effect for the cherry blossoms.
This artwork was originally displayed in a frame purchased from a museum for ¥20,000 + tax, made by a woodcraft artist.
We were told the fabric art artist resides in Hokkaido, and the signature in the bottom left corner reads 静 (Shizu).
