As it belonged to my grandfather, this is a vintage pin/pin badge from over 40 years ago.

This is a Silver Oak Leaf insignia traditionally used in the U.S. military since 1851 to denote the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

This is a vintage badge that faithfully inherits the historical design.

This clasp is a historical part that was used on high-quality U.S. military badges for decades since its patent acquisition in the 1940s. It is a clutch back (fastener) from B.A. Ballou & Co., a long-established American jewelry hardware manufacturer founded in 1868, engraved with BALLOU REG’D.
It may be rare.

The main body is believed to be made of base metal that reacts to magnets, with nickel plating.

Green patina can be seen where the plating has peeled off due to long-term storage.

It possesses both the completed beauty of an antique and a charming cuteness.

I think it would be nice to enjoy attaching it to clothes, denim, hats, or bags.
