This is a beautiful document box crafted with the traditional Kiso lacquerware technique.
It features a moist, glossy black lacquer finish adorned with mother-of-pearl inlay (raden) that shimmers with iridescent colors depending on the light. The delicate plum blossom design is exceptionally elegant, and simply placing it will brighten up any space.
It can be used as a versatile temoto-bako (handy box) for storing important letters and documents, or as a container for accessories or sewing supplies.
