Purchased 50 years ago from a Shogi teacher.
Made by Chikufu, these are Morige-age koma with Torafu, a material that is now difficult to obtain.
Only the pieces were originally included, but a box will be included as a bonus for the buyer (8th image).
They have not been used much and are believed to be in good condition.
Ootake Chikufu
A master craftsman living in Sanjo City, Niigata, and the most popular Koma maker of our time.
He was passionate about Koma, personally selecting materials from Mikurajima Island in Izu Shichito, and aging them for 4 to 5 years before use, showing his deep love for the pieces.
His Koma have often been used in professional Shogi title matches.
