Under the direction of the world-renowned Ninagawa, Mansai Nomura, a star of the Kyogen world, takes on the pinnacle of Greek tragedy, Oedipus Rex!
Oedipus Rex, which was first staged in 1976 with Somegoro Ichikawa (now Koshiro Matsumoto IX) and acclaimed in '86 with Mikijiro Hira in the lead role under Ninagawa's direction, is now brought to video! This is a recording of the 2002 performance where Ninagawa once again cast the talented Mansai Nomura from a different theatrical field, captivating the audience!
This is an old product and shows signs of age-related deterioration.
There are small tears in the shrink wrap in places (see image 6).
A label is affixed to the bottom (see image 7).
