Nagaita indigo dyeing, also known as Nagaita Nakagata, is a traditional Japanese stencil dyeing technique that has been passed down since the mid-Edo period.

Ichinosuke Hiyama was a master craftsman who passed down the traditional technique of Nagaita Indigo Dyeing (Nagaita Nakagata) from the Edo period to the present day. He is recognized as a holder of intangible cultural property in Saitama Prefecture. He passed away in 2010, and this is considered an extremely valuable piece as his legacy work.

The fabric is dyed with different patterns on each side.
The front and back sides are dyed with different patterns. One side has a kiribame-style pattern.

There is a slight storage odor.
It is a soft cotton Yuki fabric.

As it has been stored for a long time, there are some foxing marks in places. This is a very precious item.

A masterpiece that can be cherished for a long time.
