Contrabass Pickup, Wing Copper, 2026 Version 1

This is a handmade pickup for the double bass.

It's designed to be inserted into the gaps on both the treble and bass sides of the bridge. It's similar to Underwood but significantly thinner. For most double bass bridges, it should fit with little to no modification, and you might even use shims to adjust the gap, which means less stress on the instrument when attaching or removing it. I also tested it on a cello, and it fit without modification on an Aubert bridge as shown in the second photo. It's about as thick as a single piece of cardstock. The tone is bright and highly sensitive. I think it would work well if you heavily shape the sound with a preamp or blend it with other pickups like a Realist.

Please be careful not to injure your fingers on the corners of the sensor. I've made it more durable since the 2025 model, but it's also become a bit sleeker and lost some of its bulk.

It's new and has only been tested for operation, but it has a distinct handmade feel.

Please use it by securing it to the tailpiece with the included cable ties or similar.
