This is a valuable collection of 244 ukiyo-e prints, both color and monochrome, published in 1976. The exhibition, featuring the Siebold Collection from the National Museum of Ethnology in Leiden, Netherlands, was held in Osaka, Tokyo, Kokura, Fukuoka, Okayama, and Kanazawa. It was organized by the National Museum of Ethnology, the Japan Ukiyo-e Association, the Japan-Netherlands Society, and the Mainichi, Sanyo, and Yomiuri Shimbun newspapers, with support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Agency for Cultural Affairs, and the Embassy of the Netherlands. The Japan Ukiyo-e Association was responsible for the editing.
After 50 years, this is a precious book with substantial content.
