Studied reed making under Mr. Henry Handtke and Mr. Stefan Schilli, who were the first oboe teachers to sell reeds under the name Berlin in Japan.
We produce and sell reeds while performing as a professional musician and teaching the next generation at Osaka College of Music.

The tone is surprisingly rich and soft, with a very resonant sound rich in overtones. You will rarely find such reeds elsewhere.

A common problem with oboe reeds is the large variation in quality (hit or miss).
We use only carefully selected, high-quality materials, so there are basically no misses such as poor tone or intonation.

MAPPON REED tubes use new 46mm Guercio D12 tubes. Custom orders are possible for an additional fee if you have a preferred tube. (Loreé reeds pair well with Loreé tubes.)

The budget-friendly RT version uses recycled tubes for the reeds, and the length and manufacturer cannot be chosen.

We can accommodate requests for heavier, lighter, lower pitch, higher pitch, and length changes.
